Pattern Change Brings Daily Rain Chances

For the past few days, we have enjoyed a relatively dry pattern with the exception of Wednesday, where parts of the Stateline saw over an inch of rain. We will likely continue to see dry conditions through tomorrow. Starting as early as Friday night, though, rain chances re-enter the forecast.

As seen above, rain looks possible to even likely Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and into Wednesday. Temperatures look to hoover in the low to mid 80s throughout this period, before a cooldown takes place towards the middle to end of next week.

Even if you manage to stay dry through the weekend into the middle of next week (unlikely), many of the days will likely be characterized with thick cloud cover thanks to showers and thunderstorms in the area. This is all thanks to a pattern change. An area of high pressure has set up camp across the southwestern United States, and has allowed more of a west/northwesterly flow to develop aloft overhead. This will allow for multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms throughout next week.

At least some low-end severe threat will likely exist at some point durring this period, though details remain unclear as to exactly when. I am keeping an eye on the Sunday-Monday time frame for the best potential for severe weather, perhaps even into Tuesday. We will continue to monitor the forecast and update with any changes.
